I was showing property to a wonderful couple from Oregon yesterday. I stepped out to Sugar Beach and saw verdant Haleakala Mountains to the left and majestic West Maui Mountains to the right. Crystal clear Pacific blue ocean all around. Several people were stand up paddle boarding, kids were swimming and making sand castles. There were flags out in the water which meant an outrigger canoe race was about to start or finish. It reminded once again why I chose Maui to be my home.
Typically the best times to go to Sugar Beach on Maui are in the mornings and at sunset. The winds are calm, the water placid and serene. This is the best walking/jogging beach on Maui. Over 3 miles from one end to the other which adds to over 6 miles back and forth should give you good exercise.
