#28 What would you do?

You are showing one of your listings to another agent and her clients. One of the clients is carrying in a big cup of Starbucks. You ask the agent to please have the client leave the cup outside. The agent says it is no problem to carry it as it as a lid. The client walks about 10 steps in to the house and drops the cup. The coffee flies all over the white sofa and carpet.

What would you do?

1. Do and say nothing. Order a cleaning for the seller at your expense.

2. Ask the agent what she intends to do about it?

3. Tell the agent you will be sending a bill for the cleaning

4. Immediately get all parties to help you clean up what you can and let them know they will be responsible for further cleaning

5. Tell them - I can't believe you just did that after I warned you to not bring in the coffee

6. Just smile and say - accidents happen

Good Question... my first reaction would be to say "I told you so" but I wouldn't.

Lori, well I wouldn't just smile and say accidents happen if I asked them not to bring the coffee inside the home. I would probably do number 4 - Try and clean up as best as possible, and then ask for the other agent to take care of getting everything cleaned professionally.
