Staten Island’s St. George Waterfront Gets a Make-over!
Staten Island’s St. George waterfront is getting a gorgeous make-over with the construction of an amazing new retail and hotel complex near the Richmond County Bank Ballpark and the Ferry Terminal! It will also feature the largest observation wheel in the Western Hemisphere; at 625 feet tall, it’s 84 feet higher than the current record holder in Singapore. The wheel will be constructed by the same company, which erected the London Eye. This fun and exciting structure will carry passengers to amazing heights, with unparalleled views of the area.

At the base of the wheel, the new Terminal Building will include various shops, dining options, a 4-d theater and exhibition space about New York City history, alternative energy and environmental sustainability. A structured parking garage will complete this area, featuring a green roof with open space, solar panels, planted gardens, and a playground.

Empire Outlets will be a fantastic addition to the waterfront complex; it will contain 125 designer outlet stores, a shopper’s delight. Also on site – a luxurious hotel for visitors, a convenient stop with the Ferry Terminal only steps away.

This exciting project will be under construction through 2014 and 2015, with completion expected in 2016.
