MLS Blocks Zillow, Could Trulia, Redfin Be Next?

OK for all you whining about how much you have to pay to advertise on these mega listing websites, here's your chance to stop giving away information from your MLS that you PAY for, and Zillow etc get for FREE!!! Yes I said FREE! Here in Riverside County CRMLS, we check a little box at the end of the listing form that says if you do not want VOW, submit with sellers signature, otherwise we send it everywhere.

When is too much information not a good thing? How about when it is erroneous? Or maybe when six month price increase predictions for your area that are unrealistic? Hello this is what started the last RE bubble, a perfect storm of subprime predator Loans and the layman's misuse of home values with the click of a button.

There has even been talk, that we as agents may also soon give these websites a "Referral Fee". Stop the insanity our commissions may look huge but seriously if it was easy money wouldn't everyone become a RE Agent? My health care alone as an independent contractor was over $12,000 in 2013. And my pay check doesn't come weekly, if I get sick my income stops, there's no 401k or sick days or paid vacations and the hours pretty much 24/7 and expect to work Holidays! Now who wants my job?

Realtor simple guideline to guesstimate a Homes values! Comparing apples with oranges? How to set values for embellishments? Do you think the old adage of Value equals Location, Location, Location, is true? Views, Pools, special interest additions can add desirability, and then Granite Counters, Travertine flooring, condition, square footage and any embellishments, upgrades, updates you can add to a property is worth 60-70% of the cost. This value will also be depreciated over time. Example would you consider if a twenty year old solid oak cabinette's
value even in good condition is equal in value to cabinets in the newer current color, or are they? Objective would be desirability.

Location is the basis for value. Like Homes within a one mile radius share values, and can be evaluated by sales per square foot within the last 3+ months. Pulses

I have wording in my e-mail signature that Trulia, Zillow, etc are MIGRATION sites and that rental prospects should view property listings directly on my website....I re-direct them 1X so that they can realize the NON-value of these sites.
