Possible Shakeup @ DEI? Latest from Daytona International Speedway

Biggest news out of the Speedway today was about what Dale Jr. had to say last night at a news conference about DEI and how he would like Majority Ownership. I guess I've been under a rock the last 6 years, I thought Dale JR and Teresa were pretty tight since Dale SR died, that's what I get for thinking.

Apparently Teresa had some not so nice things to say about Dale JR back in December and Dale Junior said the comments "stung" Now, I do know that while Dale Jr. was growing up the relationship between him and his famous father Dale Sr. was strained, but in the years Dale Jr. entered NASCAR the SR Earnhardt was a proud father and he showed it. Go ahead and Google images of Dale Jr or Sr you'll find photos of father and son smiling ear to ear together. The last commercial I remember of them together was for the Chevy Monte Carlo, put a smile on my face every time.. "Dad" JR would say at the end of the ad, "can I borrow the keys to the car" SR would reply with a long "Nooooo" (wow, I really miss that commerical) Now, whenever Father or Son were in the winner circle, Teresa was there too with a big hug for the winning Earnhardt, and the hug was always returned. When did this family feud begin? What would SR think?

We lost SR in the 2001 Daytona 500, seems like yesterday, last lap, his drivers, Michael Waltrip and his son Jr, were in 1st and 2nd, SR was blocking to make sure one of them won. SR never blocked, he always raced to win, then he got hit and he went into the wall at turn 4...

Waltrip went on to win, JR in 2nd and the rest of the NASCAR world went into mourning. Teresa then took over DEI Inc. Two years later she was at the Daytona 500 to cheer JR and Waltrip on, it was a big deal here, I remember as it was my first year here. We were proud of her, she is a strong lady. So what happened between 2003 & 2007? I've read that JR and Teresa do not see eye to eye all the time, and it is well known. According to Kevin Harvick, the driver that took over SR's car for Childress Racing, Teresa doesn't even go to the track anymore.  Guess I live under a rock. I was never a #3 fan, NASCAR fans said you either loved or hated the Intimidator, that's not true, I wasn't a fan of Dale SR on the track, but that didn't mean I hated him. I didn't like it if he beat the driver I wanted to win, Rusty Wallace, but Dale was in the league of the elite drivers, like Richard Petty, the Allisons, Mark Martin, Daryl Waltrip. He had class, he was smart, he was a winner, and he was funny, he had what it took and he had a winning smile.

Now, everything he worked is being fought over by two people he loved dearly. Why are they feuding? Why can't they keep SR's legacy alive the way he would want it kept? I just don't get it. I do know SR would be very angry right now if he were here. Why can't they just get along?

Dale Earnhardt Jr. hasn't liked Teresa since he was six years old. This is probably his last season with that group.

Dang, not only have I been under a rock, it must have been buried in a cave huh? I thought they were friendly... What a shame. I heard it may be his last season with DEI too, and Richard Childress will be more then happy to have JR race on his team.
