A case of mistaken identity in Hickory Flat Arkansas.

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Advantage

Real estate takes my associates and me to many places in White County AR.  Venturing out into new territory does us good as we visit new or old properties and meet new people.

Daughter, Valerie Canepa, and I had to visit Hickory Flat AR yesterday.  She had never been there and I had not been there in years.  Cows!  Cows!  Everywhere we saw cows peacefully grazing in quiet pastures.  We met almost no vehicles and if we saw a person, the person stared carefully at us and wondered what we were doing there.

We were driving fairly slowly down one road and noticed that all the cows were coming in our direction, moving rapidly.  They were coming to greet newcomers to Hickory Flat.  It was fascinating to watch them come toward us like they loved us.  So I snapped a picture.

Cows at Hickory Flat

Alas, about that time there was a vehicle coming up behind us and behind that vehicle was a tractor.  We let them go around us so we could stay and admire our new cow friends.

Those fickle animals didn't love us after all!  They shunned up and took off toward the other vehicle and tractor!

So we decided it was a case of mistaken identity.......................or they didn't like the smell of big city girls!

I am sure they were looking for their next meal and decided it would more likely come from the tractor. Great post!

Anne, cows are my favorite view.  We enjoyed seeing them in the fields.

Hi Barbara. having owned two farms with lots of cows, I have a feeling they were going where the action was - food/water.

Hungry cows make bad bedfellows....or cows of a feather flock together?  I think your post was funny.  Thanks.

City gals....what can I say?  When the cows come home, they come home for food....or to be milked.  That was a great story!

Marshall Enterprises, I didn't mention it before but Hickory Flat is just a community, no store, nothing but a sign that says Hickory Flat.  I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

It looks like they were just hungry. What great photos of the cows and a nice variety of colors.
