Funny Market, and I don't mean "Ha Ha" Funny, in Cary NC

Handing off keys and lockbox covers to the next agent, who is patiently waiting, just like I did for the agent before me, and watching the next agent roll up while the guy after me goes into the house.

Multiple offers, time and again, and hoping to at least "Win, Place, or Show."  Too often "Also Ran" with an offer over full list price and few good comps to support it.

"Funny?"  Not to buyers.

And, it isn't a free pass for sellers, either.  Buyers' remorse is kicking homes back on the market, when the buyer brings in an inspector who points out the deferred maintenance from a seller who is trying to cash in on frenetic market activity.

But, the local Western Wake County market tide is rising, and all boats are floating up.  Prices are up several percent over the last year and Days on Market are down.

If a seller really tries to put a good product on the market, primped and updated, that house will go away fast.

And we'll line up and do it all over again this week.

What fun!

Oh, my. You have my sympathies.

Having worked in the hottest Real Estate market in the United States (Phoenix/Scottsdale) - twice - (2004-2006, 2012-2013) I understand the conversations: "Why couldn't you get me the house I wanted?", and "It's a Sellers' Market, why hasn't my run-down fixer-upper sold, yet (on day two of the listing)?"

Nice to be busy. But be careful what you wish for. Frenzy produces lack of discipline, which later produces tears and regrets.

Maybe you saw the Phoenix Bubble Burst in the papers?

Mike, you are so right about a house these days. I truly hated the bidding and losing for my client's win we did win it was overpriced and had "issues" that the seller was not willing to do anything about due to high due diligence monies upfront. Now it is interest rates and seasonal holidays  (low inventory) keeping first time buyers out of our market. Well there is always a wonderful spring market to look forward to. Happy Hollidays.
