How Much Is Too Much Social Media?

Inman News posted an article addressing a question about how often people should post blog updates.  The advice they give is timely and one many of us struggle with.

Not unlike our Active Rain blogging community, they advocate providing timely and helpful information to our readers.  They also point out sharing content across different social media platforms is a great way to ensure our thoughts are available to new readers.

One of the ways I've been sharing information with consumers of real estate is through our local newspapers, The Morgan Hill Times and The Gilroy Dispatch.  These papers require subscriptions for their main content, but they generally keep the blogging portion free for anyone to read.

Over the past few weeks, I've been providing information to people in my community south of Silicon Valley.  Information they can use in deciding whether or not to sell their home or if now is the right time to buy a new home.

As a result of sharing this information with readers, I have been contacted by other bloggers as well as consumers.  Their suggestions and comments are invaluable sources of feedback!  This feedback, YOUR feedback - generates more sharing.

It's incredible how much bad information is available and sometimes relied on by consumers before they make a solid connection with their agent.  If for no other reason than this, social media demands we provide relevant, timely and accurate information.

So how much social media is too much?  One could argue that only inaccurate or inflammatory content should fall into that category.  Another thought would be, that blogging at the expense of time meant for a client or family would be excessive.

There are too many great news pieces we could be sharing to inspire positive outcomes for others.  Why not share your experience for the common good and know that all will work out for the better?

You can read my contributions to my community readers at Real Estate Round-Up.  I'd love to hear your suggestions on what you'd like to know more about!

Be sure to share how much social media is too much.

As always, let's foresee the possibilities . . . and get results!
