Twilight Zone, the attic. Too many issues for a brand new home.
Getting a new home inspections has been a real challenge for Desert Sun Home Inspections in Carlsbad New Mexico.
But when the buyers have the foresight to call for a new home inspection, they did the right thing.
When inspecting this new home. The attic was like the twilight Zone.
There were just too many issues right from the start of the attic area's inspection.
Firts thing I noticed when I went up the ladder was the electrical boxes.
Here is a look at the Two boxes in the Attic that have no covers on them. And what's with the extra line in the junction box that was live but unused.
The blown in insulation was another story. They had blown the insulation every where. And I do mean everywhere.
Take a look at the furnace and the furnace pan under the furnace. Plus the bath fans were not vented to the exterior of the home. There are four of these fans in the home and all terminated in the attic. There was even missing insulation on the stem walls for the inverted ceilings.
There was no walk way for the access to the furnace. Only trusse's to walk on.
When did the local building inspector inspect this home? There was not a permit located in the window of the home any where. I think the builder had removed the permit after the "LAST" inspection and the C of O was rendered for the home.
