BEING ON TIME

Being on time is something that we all know of and have heard of. Doing it is another matter. In the yes or no world, when people are asked if they are always on time, the answer is "no" more than yes. Why is that? What is it about failing to keep to an agreed to time that brings out the explanations and excuses?

ITS ABOUT TIME

When I was first introduced to being somewhere at a specific time per my agreed to word, I took it literally and participated in the terms or stated oral contract/agreement by choice. I would even repeat it back so that no misunderstanding would kick in...I even took it one step farther

TIME WAITS FOR NO ONE

I would arrive early too. I long discovered that weather, traffic, emergencies and the unknown tend to interfere with appointments. So, I countered all that with being early to offset it. One time I got a flat tire and my "time model" covered it. I arrived on time no problem.

TIME OUT? NO...TIME IN!

After doing this for any length of time, people notice it and respect it. There is something about it that garners attention and its all good. People associate it with character, commitment and trust. That is how powerful your word can be if kept. Its like a giant pat on the back from the Universe

HELLO...IS THIS RICHIE?

The other notable and very worthy of mention is the fact that I was always available. I made it my business to be reachable and contactable. Phones, email, faxes and texts just upped my availability position considerably. It allowed me to reach for the higher realms of the subject

THE ANXIETY TO REACH SOMEONE

When handling responsible duties where multiple people are involved, being able to get a hold of the point person or important part player is not only critical but so want-able both mentally and emotionally. People know before they even dial their phones that the person will answer. The benefit remains attractive to say the least. Its a type of closure and warm & fuzzy for all. Why not?

ITS A DO OR DON'T DO SITUATION

These two applications can be subjective. I know many people will have creative responses (excuses) or explanations in regards to these two. There is no iron clad rule or conformity about this which ironically makes the stakes even higher. It makes those that do stand out even more!

COMMUNICATE THIS!

You see if someone willingly sets a high bar and keeps it, results have a way of finding them. It doesn't matter what that bar is. What does matter is the person behind it all. That's where it all ends up. Past speech, marketing, advertising and the rest, the action of it all is summed up nicely
