Lake & Bay

Sunset Lake Park     Sunset Lake Park in Portland, TX is a great place to go fishing.  It is a lake along an area of  Corpus Christi Bay.  You can either fish in the lake or in the bay.  Either way you will probably catch some fish.  There is parking along this stretch of land and just an easy walk over to the bay.  Wade fishing is popular here also.

At the end of the road, there is a parking lot of asphalt so those of you who do not want to get sand in your shoes, won't have to.  This is a good area for families to bring the children for an afternoon of fishing fun.

There are signs to direct you and also rules to abide.  No alcoholic beverages in this area and do watchout for wildlife.  That includes snakes.  Snakes are in this region.  Where there is sand and beach, one must always watch out for snakes.  No guns are allowed in this area and ATV's are also prohibited.  Want peace and quiet and good times with the family?  Check out this lovely park.

No admission fees.

Bring your fishing license though.  Good luck!
