Selling a house is a complicated process, no matter how good the real estate market is. Whether you’re a first-time home seller or not, you’ll probably have a bunch of questions how to sell it effectively and you might also have mistakes in the process. Here are the top mistakes of home selling according to the real estate experts:

1. Overpriced Home - Regardless of how well you renovate and stage your home, it is still important to price the home appropriately. If you will hire the right Realtor who can give you a strong market analysis and help you determine a reasonable price for your home, then you can avoid overpricing your home. If you overprice your home there is quite a big chance no one is going to buy it. And it's a big mistake that a seller can make, hanging the wrong price tag on a home.

2. Cluttered Space - Sellers are not willing sometimes to make the effort, or unwilling to compromise how they live in their home during the time the home is on the market for showings. It is imperative to remove all clutter from the home before showing it to potential buyers because buyers need to be able to picture themselves in the space. In fact, you can generally sell a house faster by allowing people to visualize their own things in the house.

3. Won't Make Repairs- One of the main objectives in selling your home is to make it appealing to the prospective buyers if possible. If the seller is unwilling to make repairs, and a buyer doesn't want a bunch of work upon moving in, you've shrunk the pool of potential buyers for your property. Some homes needs updating and quick fixes. Doing repairs before selling it can boost chances of quick selling.

Selling your home can be a tough job if you are not aware of the basics. You should learn the basic of selling and stay ahead in the seller’s market. Knowing the value of your  house  and exercising patience are the key.

Will, thanks for posting this information for the home sellers.  It really is important to repair items that the homeowner has put off for years.  I always recommend that the seller obtain a pre-listing inspection to get a better idea of what needs attention, repaired, or replaced prior to selling, and do the best to accomplish those tasks now rather than during the purchase contract phase.

Great points, all these things can hurt a listing.  I agree that having the right price is so important.  Thanks for sharing.
