MAKE HAY WHILE THE SUN SHINES

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with people first...then business Ran Right Realty 636943 licensed to thrill

This is not a post for horses but it is a call to work like a horse while you can. During our recent downturn, many people in the industry took a loss of income and then some and even if they wanted to work...there was NO work...

PLACE MY PORTION HERE

Opportunity also is something that should be respected and seized upon when it presents itself. It is no respecter of persons and YOU have to be ready when it appears. If not, instead of landing in your "portion" area to reward you... it just moves on...

IN BETWEEN OPPORTUNITY KNOCKING

For those that don't want to wait, then activate your tenacity, creative juices and up your game. What that is and how it goes to work is your personal business model fueled by your beliefs. Take it as far as you want to go too

FEAST & FAMINE

I have seen feast and famine throughout my Real Estate career and elsewhere too. When you go through a few of these, the title of this post starts to hit home real good. Human nature is such that when prosperity shows itself, we tend to relax and enjoy...FINE. I get it

SQUIRRELING AWAY?

However, why is it we don't hustle up first and then relax. In other words timing. In nature, they call it seasons. What is it about ants, squirrels, beavers and birds (and many more species) that know how to store away and work round the clock to do so?

THE ANIMALS KNOW THINGS AND THEY HAVE LOW IQ'S

The answer presents itself soon enough. The seasons change and when they do, all it means is that they change the way they operate. From working hard, and steady to holing up during the more challenging times. Dont' forget the in betweens too like storms and scarcity of local product

BUDGETING & EXPENSES

With humans, we tend to moan during the downside but it doesn't have to be that way. WHY? Because we should make concentrated efforts to make hay while the sun shines and then, when the sun passes, it doesn't affect the hay allowance...Budgeting and controlling expenses also come to mine...

THE NEW REAL ESTATE CYCLE HAS BEGUN

We waited for years for the old one to end hoping everyday it would. IT DID! For you Real Estate agents and associations, we are now in the beginning of the Real Estate cycle that usually lasts for years if man or acts of God doesn't interfere with it. Those are the unknowns. This is our heads up. Work it...and feel the pain and when whatever happens that causes a shift kicks in....

YOU CAN KICK BACK (pun)?

I answer my phone more than the public at large does. I also provide superior customer service too. It helps that I like doing this but be advised it also compliments my end game too. I work, hustle, explore, munch on opportunity, and remain open forever aware of what more can be done should be done. I also want to explore new avenues too

DESIRE RUNS THE SHOW

Desire is a funny thing. At some point, we tire of whatever it is we are doing. To the ones that have found their calling and bliss, it is only a brief time out. They return refreshed soon enough. To the ambitious, goal oriented and money driven, it can injure your financial planning and business model. In other words, when you have get up and go... get to going or your get up will go and leave you one day. Use it or lose it.

JUMP IN THE GAME

In America, it is not hard to get up and start somewhere. Its being fussy about starting that ruins the dynamic. I believe in baby steps. One step at a time. Consistency, slow but steady, sure pacing and when necessary; sprint, jump or leap to make the in the moment gain...Its all good

The majority of us don't really have much use for hay so making it isn't the point but it leads us to the point...Make good use of your time...while the sun shines

You are one wise man.  And those who have not gone through the cycles and seasons can learn so much from this post.  I especially related to this quote.

"I believe in baby steps. One step at a time. Consistency, slow but steady, sure pacing and when necessary; sprint, jump or leap to make the in the moment gain...Its all good"

Think we should remember that we have literally more time now with technology regardless of how much sun there might be...But it still is a fantastic metaphor! Love and light, Laura

Hello Richie: You have articulated this far better than I ever have, but live this way by choice.  I'm working harder now than I ever planned to, but I'm compelled to  keep my foot on the gas pedal while the market will cooperate.

Richie, this is a very good point. Anyone who has been in this business for a while knows it has many ups and downs. Survival is the key to this business and we should always be ready for it. One thing you can bet on is change.

Jill...yes you do get it. Now, learn how to keep it and keep getting it & then repeat

Joan...you are most welcome here...thank you for visiting

Jack...floor that puppy! Rev it up and move with a purpose. Thank you Jack

Hello David...yes to moving the hind quarters with focus and deliberation and as you say "no worries". Imagine the beaver in its den during winter. Its his vacation!

Laura the love and light goddess brings the post and its point into the present day and future. Yes to her commenting. Technology as a tool allows us to consider the difficult, perhaps the impossible but many use it to relax too...Choose wisely Yes?

Kathy...that old cycle was stubborn and over stayed its welcome. Now, with low interest rates and other dynamics, the upside is beckoning.

Brian...I like your commenting and point. If not now, when? The squirrel enjoys the day, munching and other squirrels, but it knows something about tomorrow or later on and includes it in its daily function. One more nut, trip and forage is its mantra...then, it holes up not missing a beat...That's a good role model! Yes?

Michael...what a good point you make. "Change" has its own rules and invites us in to participate. Amazing how this is so subjective as each one interprets it their way

Great post.  Making hay and storing it away.  After 25 years, I'm finally to the point of being able to just work personal referrals.  Getting here wasn't easy, but along the way I put back for when the business wasn't good.  As Dave Ramsey says "live like no one else, so later you can live like no one else".

Hi there...Jeanne; I too have reached the point where I can refer and live comfortable with it. The road to arrive here is different for us all but obtainable and worthy

I'm working on making the hay and putting it away for the time hay may be a little less available. This post makes me think that we always need to be trucking even during the good time, so we can prepare for the harder times.

LIFE IS GOOD

Hello Marco...Yes to this approach my friend. If you got something to do or say...get to it! Thinking too much about it is a form of braking or slowing down. Take the plunge and with every risk, there is a gain awaiting plus a good education and a few bruises too...go for it and thank you for joining me
