TDOT SmartWay Mobile App keeps drivers Informed

A few months ago the Tennessee Department of Transportation rolled out their new mobile app version of it's SmartWay navigation tool. TDOT SmartWay

Users can set up their own customized alerts for their daily routes. Any problems the develop along their normal route an alert would notify them with maps that show the traffice problems. It will also offer alternative routes.

TDOT SmartWay can be used at home on your laptop, before leaving for work or downloaded to your smart phone.

The SmartWay service is in the metropolitan areas of Chattanooga, Memphis, Knoxville and Nashville.

What a great idea. We have a similar program here in Minnesota, but I would advise checking it out BEFORE you get in the car. We need to pay attention on the road.

notice Johnson City is not on that list, lol. It will be great for my travels west in the state. ( although I do try to time them around rush hour...and accidents....).
