The Historical McGee House and McGee Park in Carlsbad Village, Carlsbad CA
There’s quite a bit of history in Carlsbad, and many are not really aware of all the community offers from a historical perspective.
Enjoy the slideshow at the bottom.
The McGee House (built in the late 1880s by a founder of Carlsbad) and McGee Park are a historical site about 2 blocks north of the intersection of Carlsbad Village Drive and the Coast Road, the hub of the community.
The McGee House is a craftsman-style home dating from the late 19th century, now the home of the Carlsbad Historical Society (established in 1975).
Beautiful rose gardens with 225 plants that have earned awards for Carlsbad, a great city park, Heritage Hall (built in 1926), and a historical barn dating from the 1890s (formerly owned by the Shipley family), combine to make McGee Park a place worthy of a visit.
