I've been slowly watching, listening and reading the blogs about the merger between ActiveRain and Trulia. I guess the ebb and flow of the business world is inevitable, and one can either choose to accept it or not. I choose to accept it, it's a facet of life, particularly in the business life cycle of a company such as ActiveRain. Trulia has seen the benefit of Activerain and decided boldly to act on it by moving to merge with it. Now what will it do with it?
Some people dislike the move, most are positive and some are neither here nor there. I particularly liked Melissa Zavala's blog titled, Trulia and Activerain: Is There an Elephant in the Room? In it, she is pretty stoic about her views on the merger, in the end it shouldn't change who you are as an agent and what you do to ensure your success via blogging. I can tell you that I'll be changing over to my own wordpress blog at Semper Find My Home and cutting back on my participation on ActiveRain, while I choose to accept the merger, my participation is another story, I will let time dictate if the merger is a good or bad thing. I just think it'll become bogged down with Trulia's history of short comings, like Scott Godzyk pointed out in his blog here. I'll be back from time to time, but no longer on a daily basis. Prove to me, and us Activerainers, Trulia that you won't lose us to spam, and the experience most realtors have had with you in the past. The balls in your court.
