Tammie and I are a husband and wife real estate team. Prior to me getting my license at the beginning of last year she was a solo act. Now we are a duet. Sometimes we make beautiful music together, sometimes it’s a little…dissonant. If you read our posts, you can tell from our writing how very different we are from one another.
There are quite a few husband and wife teams represented on ActiveRain. In most cases one of the spouses has taken on the task of writing blogs on AR. In our case I decided that I did have the time and the truth is, I was jealous of all the fun Tammie was having.I was reminded recently by a fellow Rainer that my very first post was titled “Sleeping With the Enemy”, lamenting my wife’s AR addiction. Well, now it’s both of us!
How are we different? I’m usually the cooler head and often take the analytical approach. I try to find humor in things and I’m kind of easy going. As I was growing up my family kept things to themselves and never really yelled that much at one another. We discussed things.
Tammie runs a little hotter (who am I kidding, when Tammie gets steamed, she’s scary!). Her family “lets it all out”. When I met them for the first time I remember a lot of yelling and discussions about body parts I never heard of! She expresses her emotions in a very unmistakable way.
A perfect fit.
Working with your spouse everyday can be challenging. Sometimes together, sometimes apart, we show homes, write offers, deal with contract contingencies and oftentimes struggle with problems that come up. For better or worse we manage to get through every work day without killing each other or totally ruining our marriage. I strongly recommend it.
When we face problems, we face them together. We really believe that two heads are better than one. We bring different things to the table and yes, sometimes it’s the dinner table, to resolve those problems we face.
