Looking for senior housing in the Ahwatukee area? Investment Property Associates have announced the development of the property at Chandler Boulevard and 50th street as Ahwatukee's newest senior housing community opening in the spring of 2016. Retirement Community Specialists will operate the facility, which has had an office in Ahwatukee since 1998 and has been in the Phoenix area for more than 25 years. The name of the project is Generations at Ahwatukee. Generations at Ahwatukee will have 128 total units including independent living, assisted living and memory care. Residents will be able to choose from studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments as large as 1,150 square feet. The entire complex will wrap around an outdoor courtyard.
Generations at Ahwatukee will also have a long list of amenities for residents, though it will all be geared toward a senior audience. There are plans for a theater, fitness studio, library, salon and barber shop, pool, community gardens, art and exercise studios and restaurant-style dining rooms.
Many future residences have lived in Ahwatukee, raised their families, and want to retire or age in place because it’s such a great community to live in. The senior center will allow them to either bring their mom or loved ones from out of state and have them live nearby or if they live there now and want to stay in Ahwatukee, this provides them an opportunity to continue living close to their church, their friends and where they shop.
