Mulberry Creek is Certified Organic Herb Farm located near Lake Erie in Huron, OH. Their commitment to the environment, the community and particularly, the land, is paramount in their business and is their life’s passion.
I am particularly a fan of their 3 year old venture into CSA farming (Community Supported Agriculture). Not only do the Langan’s strive to nourish my body with their superior produce, but they offer the opportunity to educate me about their weekly selections. We are able to experiment and share with others in the program, our recipes, ideas and creations.
Another favorite is the Annual Herb Fair, held the fourth weekend in June. It is always themed around a different country. In the past we have learned and traveled through India, Ireland, Japan, Italy and many others with food offerings specific to that region as well as music and dancing. It is an opportunity to mingle with friends, attend workshops, meet local vendors and tour the meticulous, themed gardens and green houses.
They offer so much more, that you might want to check out their website. You won’t want to miss Bonsai Day or Railroad Garden Days or the Mother’s Day party. And a new addition this year will be Mark’s Happy Hour every Wednesday, April through June 18 from 4-7:30.
Here is a short YouTube clip from a few years ago. It doesn’t take long to appreciate the way the Langans embrace their calling.
