Friday I was asked by an agent if I knew "so-in-so" another agent in the area. He was surprised that she dare ask to show a property on Easter Sunday, one of his listings. It was owner occupied so it matters. In this area we have a lot of season residents so many homes are vacant starting in April.
Turns out that I didn't know her. He asked how long I was in business and if I showed on holidays. My reply was that I have been in business about 16+ years and that I have. I would at least ask but not be difficult if I couldn't get into the property. I think he just figured that nobody works on the holiday ... maybe because he doesn't. I don't know.
What I do know is that Saturday night I got an email from a customer who wanted me to see their home for a potential listing because they wanted to look at and possibly purchase one of my current listings and they needed to speak to me right away because they were leaving Monday. So, should I work on Sunday (after my churchly duties) or say no and let them fly off on Monday morning or do I potentially have a $1M cumulative sale?
Yes, I worked on the Holiday and yes I'll list their home and yes I'll sell them one of my listings. You can only mae hay when the sun is shining and sometimes the sun shines pretty darn bright on holidays, weekends and at inconvenient times. I can take that paddleboard out tomorrow instead, right?
Happy Easter, Rainers!
