Ferries are Running Between Madeline Island and Bayfield, Wisconsin
The Madeline Island Ferry Line has resumed its schedule between LaPointe, Wisconsin and the mainland. We're told that the first run of the ferry took place yesterday, with a trip by the motor vessel Island Queen across the two miles between Bayfield and LaPointe.

The resumption of ferry schedule between the Island and the mainland marks the end of a particularly long and harsh winter for residents and visitors to Madeline Island. The eagerly-anticipated return of car ferry service for Madeline Island travelers is a welcome relief to all of us!
