Visit the Highlands on April 26th or 27th to see the Cherokee Triangle Art Fair, an event that celebrates local artisans. Over 200 booths will offer entertainment, food, activities and arts and crafts of all types. In an eclectic and unique neighborhood like Cherokee Triangle, you’re sure to find something for everyone at this local fair.

Getting Crafty

The Art Fair takes place on April 26th and 27th from 10 am to 6 pm. It’s a free event that’s open to all, and because it’s being held in one of Louisville’s most unique neighborhoods it promises to be a feast for the eyes. The Cherokee Triangle area is one of the prettiest parts of the city. The fair itself is situated along the beautiful tree-lined Cherokee Parkway, between Willow Avenue and Cherokee Road.

Stroll through the fair to see the sights and maybe even talk to the artists. Some of them man their own booths so they can speak with potential buyers. Art exhibits and handmade crafts aren’t the limit of what you can buy at the fair. There’s one whole booth dedicated to various plants and herbs, and an official Cherokee Triangle booth filled with local goodies. Visit the Children’s Tent for activities that are designed to keep younger fairgoers entertained.

Go on Saturday, and you’ll hear the Stray Cat Blues Band performing at the fair, along with Bluegrass band No Tools Loaned. Lots of food and drink will be available, and you’ll be tempted more than once by local Louisville eats.

In the Triangle

The proceeds of the Cherokee Triangle Art Fair are used to benefit the Cherokee Triangle area. The money will fund summer concerts, keep the neighborhood beautiful and help maintain local attractions that make this area so unique.

Cherokee Triangle is part of the Highlands area of Louisville, one of the most well-known and eclectic parts of the city. Historic Cherokee Triangle is visually stunning, with homes that display a range of architectural styles. The area is named for nearby Cherokee Park, and it’s one of Louisville’s oldest neighborhoods. Walking through the neighborhood is a bit like walking through Louisville’s multi-cultural past, and that rich heritage is still evident in the local art that will be on display at the fair.

The art fair in Cherokee Triangle sounds like a great outing for the family and I love your description of the neighborhood. The Highlands sounds like an inviting place to live and raise a family.
