When you think about adding some new touches to your house, consider simple things such as:
- LIGHTING. In key areas of your house, whether they’re dark corners or not, think about indirect lighting that sets a nice mood and can give you lots of brightness when you need it.
- CEILING FANS. Ceiling fans add both a good look and increase air flow. Remember that a ceiling fan can be used to circulate cool air and to move warm air down into the room since heat rises.
- ADDITIONAL STORAGE. Most families always need more storage. You can purchase or build inexpensive and attractive shelves and cabinets for laundry room, kitchen, or garage. Do-it-yourself bedroom closet organizers are very popular.
- MIRRORS. Mirrors add a sense of large space to an area. Consider adding a full-length mirror to your bathroom, closet, or bedroom door. Also you can add mirror squares or tiles.
- INCREASED WIRING. There are never enough outlets, especially in older homes. Have an electrician add GFI outlets in bath & kitchen. Also add surge protectors, especially if you have a computer. Also, the cable company will usually install additional cable outlets inexpensively.
Making a house more convenient and comfortable is what having a home is all about.
