What Makes Up Your Credit Score?
I found some interesting information the other day and thought I would share it with you. What determines your credit score? We all know about the three credit reporting companies and we think we know what information they gather to determine that score. I learned that there are five areas that make up your credit score. What is new information to me is the percentage or weighting effect on your score.
1. Payment History = 35%
2. Amount Owed = 30%
3. Length of Credit History = 15%
4. New Credit = 10%
5. Types of Credit = 10%
