Garden of Eden Marketplace, a full-service market featuring Gourmet Foods, has opened at Heritage Square Shopping Center on the corner of Springfield and Plainfield Avenues One Block from RR Station.
Mustafa Coskun, who owns the store with his brother John, said, “Originally we opened four stores in New York and this is the third store” they have opened in New Jersey — one in South Orange, the other in Hoboken. Both of those stores have been sold, he said.
A huge display of fresh fruits and vegetables greets shoppers as they enter, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg. A bakery section turns out fresh baked breads, rice cakes right out of the “Magic Pop,” and all sorts of delectable pastries.
Coskun pointed to the displays of specialty fruits and vegetables and said the store features food that is “colorful, bountiful and healthy.”
Imported cheeses, a fresh salad bar, organic meats, freshly cooked meals, sushi prepared by sushi chefs on the premises, fish, fresh pastas and more are displayed. There are even flowers to decorate a table or give as a gift.
Garden of Eden also features canned goods, beauty and cleaning products, a wide selection of jams and jellies, coffees and teas and vitamins.
Garden of Eden is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. The store's address is 504 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922.
