The market has taken on some serious moment in areas I service the last 12 to 18 months but the last few months we have noticed another shift of sorts. This leads to the question I get from sellers, and potential sellers: Is it still a good time to sell my home?
Well there is no one uniformed answer for that. It depends on circumstances with your family. I will say this. Anytime you have the type of run up we have had which has been from 20% to 30% in a short period of time, you can only expect things to slow down if not staginate for awhile.
Interest rates are still low, but how long can they stay that way? The inventory of available homes for sale is lower than normal (in areas I work) but realistically that will turn (as we are seeing it do so already). If you believe you will NEED to sell in the short term, THIS is probably a great opportunity, especially if you were wanting to sell a year or so ago, but couldnt because prices were too low. The other thing to consider is if you were hoping to relocate neighborhoods, purchase a larger property or downsize. This may be a really great opportunity for you to do so.
There are plenty of reasons that this may not be the market for you to sell, but take a serious look at your personal circumstances and think long term goals, PLUS remember were your mindset was 12 months ago and make a decision.
