They do move fast and I love to see their little clear wings moving. Once in a while they stop to rest and then I get a few extra shots.

We get to see them in our garden as well. I find hummingbirds absolutely amazing.

I had a couple of hummingbird moths at my house the other day. Didn't have my camera, so I hope they come back so I can get a few pictures.

Unlike a hummingbird I was able to get within a foot of them.

Hi Barbara-Jo,

They are amazing little creatures and remind me of fairies. I have always loved fairies too.

Hi Tony,

I have used my Kodak adjustable zoom lens but it is a fixed and not is good as my Cannon EOS but if I hold very still and focus, I sometimes get clear shots. I love to hear them buzzing.

HHi Endre,

I keep buying new cameras until I found the one to give me the photos I want. Now I just have to get them to fly into my new yard on a regular basis.

We had a cold snap and I haven't seen the two Hummingbird Moths since that first day.

Hopefully I will get a shot of them this weekend.

Hi Toni,

I think that hummingbirds are amazing little birds. They migrate most of the time and the scientists  say they travel the same route coming and going yearly and stop at the same bird feeders. They must have some magical builti-in navigation.

Kristin, your hummingbird is just beautiful.  I haven't seen one in years - maybe it's time to plant some morning glories.

Hi Whitney,

This is the time and I just put up one and the ants are trying to move in on the hummingbirds. I am going to have to stop them.

Hi Patricia,

They are all over the place here in Southern California but they are probably fans of the dry climate here. I love to hear them buzzing around the yard. I planted 4 trees that will house them in the next year. The neighbor at our other house had 3 North Carolina Cherry Trees and all the birds slept in them so when I moved here I decided to attract the birds and give them a nice hangout place to sleep.
