Water, water everywhere!!!
I wish I could send some of this rain (and, yes, snow again) to those of you in California, the Southwest and even Colorado.
We have got lakes again in the backyard. And, yesterday, when I was at the Creamery Antique Shop in Albertville, there were actually a pair of ducks in the new lake in the parking lot. And, they were diving for food! They came in the morning and late afternoon.
Needless to say, we won’t be parking there anytime soon.
For those of you who need to conserve water, however, here are a few of my favorite plants.
Heuchera: What a great plant! It comes in so many colors and is drought-tolerant and shade-tolerant, too. Check out the web for nurseries in your area that carry this great perennial.
Coreopsis: Kind of like a daisy or aster, this plant can really make it with very little water, and like the Heuchera, it comes in all kinds of colors and varieties.
Sedum: Love sedum….It makes a great ground cover in one variety and a nice bush in another. Check your nurseries for all the different types of this perennial, too.

And, last, for today, anyway, Echinacea. above. Another garden stalwart, this makes a great plant for any border, and asks so very little for water.
The other nice thing is that Echinacea and Sedum provide great fall interest in any garden.
Happy gardening, and if you need some extra water, call me!
Best, Ron
