Happy Monday and Hello May.

Friday night my daughter Kendall asked me if I was running Saturday morning.  I told her I was thinking about it but not entirely sure.  She then said “C’mon dad if you can run Boston with those ribs you can do a morning run with me”.   I told her I’d love to run with her but that I was still hurting a bit and needed to be careful.  What she said next was perfect.  “I think you’ve lost your love for running.  I know Boston took a lot out of you but you cannot give up on what you love.  If you’re ever going to get it back you need to run with me”.  She then smiled and said “I won’t make you run too fast old man”.

Saturday morning we ran much further than I anticipated and you know my little girl was right.  I ran at a pace that made sense and it was awesome.  As a result I couldn’t wait to get up this morning and run again.  And you know what?  It was just as awesome.  One of my favorite motivational speakers and trainers is Zig Ziglar.  One evening after giving a speech he was approached by an attendee who said, “Zig, Motivation is great, but it never lasts!”  Mr. Ziglar responded, “Bathing doesn’t either……that’s why I recommend it daily.”

The best way to stay motivated?   YOU have to want it and be willing to work at it daily.  No one “can make you” motivated.  YOU have to work at it.

You know that goofy commercial “Stay Thirsty My Friends”?  Well here’s mine “Stay Motivated My Friends”!  I know it’s been a tough first four months with listing inventory in the can.  Today is a whole new day and tomorrow will be a new one as well.  The market is loosening up.  Listings are becoming more available and they will continue to do so.  Stay motivated and your efforts will pay off.
