I upgraded to a Rainmaker Account three months ago and started writing hyper-local posts. Today I got my first call from an individual who had read one of my public posts and was interested in buying a townhome for his mother! Yes, it works and I'm a little excited!
He indicated he found me through a Google search of a particular townhome development in Franklin TN. I know for a fact that my AR post does appear on page one for this development. It was one of the first hyper-local posts I wrote...about three months ago.
I started on ActiveRain with a free "Rainer" account nearly one year ago. For nine months I wrote Members Only posts because on the free account that's all you can write. You can and do experience the wonderful comraderie, you can share information, and you can learn incredible things about our business. However, because the public can't read your posts, you can't get any business from your blogging!
Kind of an important thing!
I know I should write more often than I do. I average about ten posts per month, and probably less than half of them are hyper-local. But when you taste just a little success, it can really motivate you! Somebody out there is actually finding my blogs, reading them, and calling me to help them buy a home.
Did I say I'm a little excited?
