Because Rentec Direct offers strictly web-based software, customers do not meet our support staff face-to-face, unlike many professionals in the housing business. At Rentec Direct, we have to connect with our customer either on the phone, through email or on the web. Most housing experts get the chance to look their customers in the eye and begin to forge trust. Think of how many people, though, are sitting in their PJ's at night, surfing the net, dying to find their dream home or the person who is going to guide them to that front door? They are making many decisions about the who/what/when of their next home with a glass of wine in hand and the world wide web at their fingertips, rather than you by their side to give good feedback. Considering this, your odds of connecting are actually closer to mine.
Imagine if you could be on the clock 24-hours a day, able to meet potential customers with a smiling face? And you were full of helpful advice and always said the right thing? And your clothes were pressed and you weren't in the middle of 15 other tasks at the same time? Impossible, you say.
Not completely.
Videos can be your best friend, from "How To" to "Updates" to "All About Me" to "What's Hot." And you don't have to be a software whiz to figure out how to create & publish videos that will capture your audience as there are snazzy tools out there to help you shine. One of our new Property Managers has a fairly straight forward website that includes some very simple "how to" videos for both the investers and tenants he manages for. This tool alone sets him apart in the sea of professionals only using static words/images/photos to promote and communicate business details.
After listening to my new customers ask "how can I get help in Rentec Direct when you're not there?" I created a "Need Help?" video using an affordable demo creator software. Now my new customers can feel empowered in their PJ's at night when I'm fast asleep.
What can you share in video with your future & current customers? What is it you need for them to hear when you're not able to connect up with them face-to-face?
Cheers!
