I have built quite a social presence on-line. It didn't happen overnight. The one thing I make clear is that I am a referral agent. Being on various social networks and attending various conferences through the years. I have met some incredible real estate agents. Agents who clearly are successful and always happy to accept a referral.

I know we all have these stories where we refer business to an agent and the agent drops the ball. It happens on occasion and it happened to me recently. And more than once. If you don't need or want the business just tell me so. When that happens it makes my marketing efforts pointless and a huge waste of time and also loss of income.
The thing is I didn't know an agent personally in the area who could service this ready, willing and able customer. What I did was ask someone who I know and they gave me a name and contact information.
Lo and behold, I spoke to the buyer and the agent never contacted them and instead of bothering me she found someone who was recommended to her by her brother. Sigh....
This isn't the first time nor the last as it will happen again I'm sure.
It happens right?
Moral of the story: I try and connect with agents all over the United States and I think I have done a pretty good job yet in this instance I too dropped the ball by not knowing someone in the area or at least go somewhere online where I could ask the question, have a response and a firm commitment instead I went and asked someone that I knew. That won't happen again. There are groups all over social media filled with hungry agents as well as right here. A key question to ask...are you too busy for business that you did not have to pursue and will you handle my cherished friend or family member in a way that the deserve? I didn't ask that question but you can bet...next time I will!
So the next time you get the opportunity to meet agents nationwide go do it..get to know people so the next time you have a friend or a loved one buying or selling real estate you place them in good hands. There are plenty of groups online and discussions you can join. These types of activities will help put your most cherished referrals in good hands!
