Tasty Tuesday – Strawberry and Spinach Salad is perfect for your Mothers Day luncheon
Happy Tuesday of Mothers Day Week! I hope you have, or are making, big plans for your Mom this weekend. Dave and I are having are families over on Sunday and I plan on making this salad. We love it. We are going to have this salad with tri-tips and baby potatoes. Here is the yummy recipe.
- 1/2 shallot, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons raspberry vinegar
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 pound baby spinach
- 1 cup strawberries, thinly sliced
- 1/3 cup sliced almonds, toasted
- 2 ounces fresh goat cheese, crumbled

Sensible Shopper Wednesday- Let’s talk Mother’s Day
Happy Wednesday! I know on Wednesdays that we here at DCRG usually discuss cool shopping tips and ways to save. But with this being Mother’s Day Week, I wanted to give some gift ideas for you while your shopping for your mothers this week.
So here are a few ideas:
1. Gardening Basket – I LOVE to garden and spend time planting flowers. How about a cute basket full of flower starts, or even seeds, maybe new gloves and gardening tools. You could even throw in a gardening book. Dave and the boys got me an antique watering can a few years back and it is one of my favorite gifts of all time.
2. Spa Day – I know. This is a “non-creative” gift but as a female, and a mother, and a busy working wife, I do enjoy spa days. I great massage and pedicure are a great cleanse for my soul. How cool would it be to create the gardening basket then throw in a gift card for a pedicure as a bonus.
3. Great Book – I have given my mom great reads over the years and she enjoys them. She isn’t a huge fan of reading so I do not get them for her every year but it has been successful in the past.
