My first time blogging!!

By
Real Estate Agent with Prudential Midlands The A.R.T. of Real Estate

First of all I am new to this thing called blogging but I think it is awesome!  I am always interested in other professionals' opinions and ideas.  I wanted to start by asking if anyone else is experiencing a boost in their market.  I have had the best two months of my five year career and it seems to be picking up even more.  Of course, I have had a few loans fall through because of financing, but for the most part homes in the Columbia, SC area seem to be holding their values.  I have a team of seven agents and I just had to hire another assistant because of the workload and I was wondering if the media is right.  I can't help but worry when I listen to the nightly news and I know there are some areas truly struggling, but is it helping areas that are just experiencing some needed normalization to portray such a dismal picture of our economy?  Is it really that bad?  Am I just in the dark or are their others with a glass half full?  I am generally a positive person but I also tend to be naive (or so I'm told) so I just wanted to hear other stories of success or other agent/teams pleased with their current place in the market.  I have a passion for this business (and I just came back from our conference in New Orleans so I am pumped up and ready to try all the new tools).  Mainly, I am so proud to help people buy and sell their biggest, most important investment and I feel privileged to be a part of a network of fellow Real Estate Professionals.  I look forward to communicating with you.  Is that cheesy?

Andrea, Welcome to Addictive Rain!  My suggestion would be to listen to your market and not the Nightly news! We all know they love any thing negative.   Our market is picking up too.

The media thrives on selling negativity, doom and gloom. Charlotte, NC enjoyed double-digit appreciation in 2007 versus 2006. Did you hear much about that in the mass media? No! You only hear about the foreclosures in FL, CA, MI, etc. Your picture is great! Congratulations on your recent success and welcome to Active Rain!
