The people behind the Grant Avenue Market in Takoma Park, MD are geniuses for scheduling opening day on Mother's Day! After enjoying breakfast in bed, extra snuggles from my girls and hide-and-seek surprises (my 5 year old insisted that I had to find my gifts she had hidden throughout the house), I got to get my vintage on.
We spent most of the day in Takoma Park, MD and it turned out pretty near perfect. We strolled along Carroll Ave, stopped by the Farmer's Market to pick up a loaf of olive bread, got a free ride to the Grant Avenue Market courtesy of the DC Pedicab, had a special Mother's Day picture taken at Nikoo's Photos booth, hunted for treasures, stopped for ice-cream and topped it all off with lots of laughter and love.
The only thing amiss, I wish I could have hugged my mom, too. We have such a special bond but an ocean in between us..
Happy Mother's Day!
P.S. If the owner of the purple house off Carroll Ave in Takoma Park happen to read this post, my girls voted that yours is their favorite and they would very much like to move in.
