Real life situations make excellent topics for industry writers. We all encounter unique and interesting experiences in our day to day work and it’s often enlightening to run them up the flagpole and see if anyone will salute it!
But when establishing a premise with the expectation of a response, it is important to include all of the facts that a reader will require to draw a conclusion.
Too often a point becomes diluted by a lack of information. Often one simple phrase that is omitted can deflect the aim causing the reader to miss the mark.
Examples would be along the lines of: “the seller instructed me to…” or “the documentation was received late…” or even “it’s company policy.”
Leaving out those important material facts could lead a well-intentioned reader in the wrong direction.
Including all of the facts when stating your case goes a long way towards correctly communicating your intended message!
And will help the reader understand the point that you are trying to make!
