Alaska Arbor Day 2014

The goal of the Anchorage Garden Club is to promote horticulture in and around the Anchorage area.  Officially, Alaska Arbor Day 2014 is May 19th.  However, William Tyson Elementary School will be celebrating on Tuesday, May 20, 2014.

At the Alaska Arbor Day 2014 celebration at William Tyson Elementary School in Anchorage, the Anchorage Garden Club will donate trees that will be planted by the children.  This allows children to learn about the importance of trees to the lives of Anchorage residents as well as how to care for them.  The Anchorage Garden Club is part of one of the largest volunteer gardening groups in the country: National Garden Club.

Cheer on the kids of William Tyson Elementary School while they plant trees on their school grounds on their Alaska Arbor Day 2014 celebration in Anchorage on May 20th.  This is a wonderful learning experience for both you and your children.
