Do You Wear Realtor® Designation Pins and on What Side?
I personally think it is just as important to wear Realtor pins as it is to wear your name tag. You want strangers to walk by and recognize your pin and many do since NAR is always promoting us on television. This week I saw 4 different commercials and they proudly display the blue Realtor® logo.
There is also a red Realtor® pin for commercial agents.
Also in conversation, sometimes a person will ask what the pin is you are wearing on your lapel. This is a great time to tell them you are a Realtor in the area and this pin represents the educational classes or the real estate organization you belong to.
Where do you put your pins? Is there a side you should use? Yes, clearly it is important to put you pin on the right side so if you shake hands, the person will draw their eyes towards your right arm upward and see the pin. What a great conversation piece.
I have an entire box full of pins I have earned but tend to wear my Women's Council of Realtors® President-Elect pin or my Realtor Pin as they are my favorites.
Some pins you cannot purchase unless you earn the designation from NAR courses like the coveted GRI, Green, ABR, CRS, e-Pro, BPOR, SFR and others. I also took a 3 day course to earn the CDPE designation even though it is not a NAR designation.
Just remember if you do not pay your NAR dues and stay current with your local board, you are not allowed to call yourself a Realtor® or wear the pins.
The Realtor Store at NAR which has specialty pins for people who are in the military, or have loved ones who retired or have passed on. I proudly wear a Star Realtor pin in memory of my father who served 24 years. I get a lot of people asking me about this pin.
I feel that it is extremely important to wear your pins proudly as a Realtor.
What do you think?
