Why Maplewood/South Orange is awesome: Part Deux
- May Blog by Marc Stern of the Gosselin Group -
FOOD. Yes, I said the F word. If you like food, (and who doesn’t) our two towns are an epicurean delight. Just like when we used to live in NYC, my wife and I spend many days walking around “vibeing” restaurants to see what strikes our fancy. Aside from having one of the most consistently praised French restaurants in all of NJ right in Maplewood Village (and trust me, it’s AWESOME), we have a delicious and varied selection of just about every cuisine imaginable. Italian, Japanese, Middle Eastern, diners, soul food, Thai, Ethiopian, Indian, French, Mexican, eclectic American, Irish pub food, EXCELLENT pizza (I’m from Brooklyn. Pizza is serious business!), delis, a do-it-yourself frozen yogurt bar, ice cream shops, and on any nice spring or summer day assorted lemonade stands are known to dot our leafy streets. Juice bars, donuts, coffee shops; You think it, we’ve got it. Within reason, of course. I don't think as of yet we have one of those "Explorers Club" exotic insect consumption establishments, which is a good thing!
I must say, dining out and staying local has never tasted better. In a town filled with civic pride, our restauranteurs are equally as proud of their wares and are very appreciative for the support of locals. In truth we’ve rarely been disappointed in the fare, the atmosphere, or the friendly nature and vibrant downtowns of our sister communities.
Here's a link which explains where buying a home is within reach of the middle class. All the more reason to check out Maplewood/South Orange!
Stay tuned for next month’s explosion of awesomeness, and as usual it would be my pleasure and privilege to take you on a tour and show off our towns. If you are already a resident looking to transition, I'm happy to help you pursue that in any way I can. Please reach out to me with questions, bad jokes, comments on my blog post or dinner invitations. Marc@GosselinHomes.com
