I am super excited to announce that I have closed business thank you to the Active Rain community and two super star Realtors who went above and beyond to help me get started on Active Rain.
It all began when I met Realtor Shannon Milligan of the RVA Home Team with Jefferson Properties on Twitter. We were immediate cyber-friends, and I was lucky enough to connect with her soon afterwards at a local networking event. During a coffee meeting she talked to me about her real estate blogging and Active Rain, and I decided to give it a try.
She offered to let me write a guest post for her in January of 2013. It was called "How to Prepare for Buying a Home in Richmond, VA." Northern Virginia Realtor David Burrows happened to comment on that post...
I decided to reach out to David, and I'm glad that I did. He has been a great Realtor to work with, and we just had a closing last week. It is never an issue to work with one of his real estate buyers even though I'm in Richmond and they are in Northern Virginia. To be honest, I usually don't meet borrowers until the closing table as most transactions are taken care of over the phone and email these days. I always encourage clients to come into the office to sign disclosures or for a mortgage consultation, but, with the pace of life these days, most people prefer the phone and internet.
I am so glad to be a part of the Active Rain community and I hope I form many more relationships like this one in the future!
