Manhattan, Illinois' historic Baker/Koren Round Barn Farm Park is once again the backdrop for Manhattan Civil War Days, this year being held on June 7th and 8th, 2014.
The hours of this year's Manhattan Civil War Days will be 10 am to 4 pm, both days of the event.
The Battle of Spotsylvania, fought in May of 1864 ... and Battle of Petersburg, fought in June of 1864 ... will be the featured focus of this year's re-enactment. Infantry soldiers, cavalry, artillery along with horses, medical personnel, civilians, and musicians will also be featured in the encampment and re-enactment.
Manhattan Civil War Days attempts to recreate what would have been a typical campaign during the Civil War. Its portrayal of war and camp life is meant to be as factual and close to true representation as possible for this period of history.
The re-enactment is broken down into: Military, Military Dependents, and Living History categories. Each segment will both educate and entertain the visitors attending the event. A more complete and detailed schedule of events will be released closer to the event's dates.
