Arrival of the Hot Weather - Head out to the Metro Phoenix Water Parks

With the arrival of the hot weather to Metro Phoenix, you might be thinking about a Summer outing to one of the Valley's water parks.

Here's a run down on the big four:

(1) Big Surf -- 1500 N. McClinktock Drive, Tempe, Arizona

Their wave pool was the first in the United States and remains the third-largest in the world.  There are also plenty of other water features, for young and old, to enjoy.

For dates and fees, visit their website HERE.

(2) Wet 'n' Wild -- 4243 W. Pinnacle Peak Road, Phoenix, AZ

The Valley's largest water park features many slides and rides, including the Maximum Velocity Dueling H2O Coaster.   They also have activities to keep younger children entertained.

For dates and fees, visit their website HERE.

(3) Golfland/Sunsplash -- 155 W. Hampton Ave., Mesa

Visitors can enjoy the seven-story Revolution water slide, the Thunder Bay Wave Pool, the 800-foot Endless River or Master Blaster Water Coaster.  In addition, there are activities that will appeal to younger children.

For dates and fees, visit their website HERE.

(4) Kiwanis Wave Pool -- 6111 S. All-America Way, Tempe

Part of the Kiwanis Park Recreation Center (which also has tennis courts, a batting cage, and basketball & volleyball courts), the Wave Pool is an affordable, indoor option (without the bells and whistles of the larger water parks).  There is also a lap swimming area.

For details, visit the City of Tempe website HERE.

Good morning Eric, You are fortunate to have water parks nearby. We have a couple, but are not conveniently located. 1 to 2 hours away, but northern Indiana and southern michigan, has many lakes and beaches as an alternative.  Then there is always the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan, just 45 minutes away.

Happy Splashing!
