HOW MANY DRUMMERS DO YOU MARCH TO?
The main purpose of a drummer is timekeeping. Drummers are part of the rhythm section.
All the other members of the group listen for the drummer, including singers, to keep the rhythm.
The question for today is: How many drummers do you follow? The answer is very important in business. Who is setting your rhythm? Or do you even pay attention to the rhythm?
In Real Estate, every day I receive an email for a webinar to show me how to achieve greater success in my business. I receive emails that invite me to buy a course that will take me to new highs in business. I read blogs that tell me about internet ideas that will reach more people. (Note: I am not speaking against any of these ideas and methods).
If we are not careful, we will hear different drummers with different rhythms that will lead us in many directions. The result will be a lot of time, money and energy will be spent, but without the desired results.
How do we keep from going in many different directions?
How do we achieve success without burning money and our minds?
It is all about selecting the right drummer.
Most of us spent time at the beginning of the year to develop our business plan. We set goals and developed a plan of action that would take us to those goals.
Then along came a drummer, a different drummer with a different rhythm. We like that sound, it promised us success and off we went, following the new drummer. The problem was, we forgot to check that new rhythm with our goals and strategies. Would the new rhythm take us to our goals or would we just take a side trip and have a little dance that did not achieve the results we wanted?
There are so many good activities for us to add to our tool kit, but they may not be the right tools for where we are going.
Someone hears a successful agent share the secret to their success-which is buying ads in TOP LUXURY HOMES OF THE WORLD. The successful agent reports they sold $150,000,000 in one year, all from advertising in that one magazine. Now the want to be successful agent forgets that his marketing plan is for investment and rental properties. They now hear the beat of a new drummer and follow a new rhythm. The result is $0 in return, because they were marketing in the wrong place to meet the people in their target area.
There is good reason to have a goal and plans to reach those goals. They will be your drummer that gives you the rhythm. Stick to the beat. You can add other instruments and voices as long as they follow the same rhythm.
