I was just sitting in an legal ethics seminar for my continuing ed. They shared this story with me:
Two law partners, running a practice, place an ad on Craig's List for a new legal secretary.
"Need to be young and send a photo. Must be a great legal secretary. The last legal secretary could keep up sexually, but not with the legal work."
The ethics board didn't care about them advertising on craig's list. Nor did the ethics board care if attorneys were legally soliticing sex (not sure how that it's legal to solicit sex online), but the fact that they were making sexual performance a pre-requisite of a job.
Both attorneys had their license suspended for 6 months. It amazes me that someone that stupid got a license to begin with. However, it also amazes me that the board didn't care about personal activities that are published online because lawyers are to be held to a high standard.
Thoughts?
