Say No to the Gateway Project at the Riverside County Board of Supervisors Meetings
if you live in The Pass area and haven't heard of the Gateway Project, this article is a must-read, plus you need to do extra homework as well!
The Gateway Project is a proposed industrial warehouse for Cherry Valley Blvd, in Cherry Valley. The reason many are against it is because of it sheer titanic size. This Gateway Project would construct a 2.5 million square foot industrial warehouse that includes a minimum of 248 big rig truck bays. Diesel trucks would flood Cherry Valley Blvd. contantly, day and night. Imagine that in rural Cherry Valley!
On Saturday we (my partner and I, along with our next door neighbor) attended a gathering at the Fallen Heroes Park, in Beaumont with the No Way Gateway Supporters and Mark Orozco, who is running for the Board of Supervisors, fifth district.
We believe opposing the Gateway Project protects not only Cherry Valley's rural living, but Beaumont real estate values and other surronding home values as well. No one wants to buy a house near a huge warehouse with diesel trucks pulling in out out night and day!
We will be attending the Board of Supervisors meeting tomorrow (Tuesday, May 19th, 2014) to help oppose the Gateway Project, and to let our current 5th District Supervisor, Marion Ashley, and other Board members know that our community opposes the project. Come out and oppose this monstrosity of a project with us. Here's the details for attending:
