Hendersonville Main Street Named 2014 Great Place!
For people who live here, it is well known that Hendersonville has one of the best Main Streets around. And now it is official! The 2014 Great Places in North Carolina awards program has named our little town a "Great Main Street," nominated for it's community events, historic quality and vibrancy. According to a news release from the APA-NC, it was the combination of existing vitality and proactive dedication of the town and community that led the expert panel to select Hendersonville's Main Street as a 2014 Great Main Street.
Two other towns celebrate this award as well: North Salem Street in Apex, and Fourth Street in Winston-Salem.
If you have not seen our sweet little town, come by sometime to check it out! You will find it bustling with activity. You will find family friendly music on main street on Friday and Monday nights, festivals and concerts on weekends, and of course the bears. And not the scary kind. The bear display changes every year, and they are fun and informative.
We have some of the best food right on Main Street, along with the Flat Rock Playhouse, the Hands On! kids museum, and more! With outside dining and cafe's along the way, you can enjoy the flowers and people to talk to. Come by Main Street and make some friends for life!
