Salute to our Veterans on Memorial DayHow could we ever forget? Today, we salute and honor all military service members, past and present on this Memorial Day. We thank them for for their dedication, commitment, and their service to our country. They have made tremendous sacrifices to maintain our way of life in these United States of America. Yes, we know that our Freedom comes with a price. A price that truly cannot be repaid. That’s why it’s so important to remember that Memorial Day is not about picnics, barbecue time, and time off from work, but about, “Honoring and Remembering”, All those who have served, and those who are still serving our great nation.

Remember Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, Normandy Beach, the Korean War, the Vietnam Conflict(Yes, Congress never declared War), Desert Storm, and the war in Afghanistan, which happens to be the longest war in US History. We remember and honor all our fallen heroes. We honor all our brave men and women, who are still serving. No, We will never forget! Memorial Day is not a not a day to celebrate, but a day to Recognize and to Honor all those brave service members, who have died from all branches of the military, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force, and the Marines.

I remember the 60’s when Patriotism was very low, and our Vietnam veterans were not welcomed home, or given thanks for their service to our country. I often think of all those fallen comrades, and the sacrifices they made for us. I remember all those riots and demonstrations on our college campuses, and the burning of our flag in our country, and other foreign countries. I remember 9/11, and why our young men and women are in Afghanistan today, fighting terrorism, and helping to keep our country FREE and SAFE!

Yes, Let Us Remember the real meaning of what this Memorial Day is all about. Thank Our Military Service members for their service, and God Bless America!

Yes, Lenn. God Bless You for being a patriot during the 60's. Those were some troubled times for many issues besides the war going on in Vietnam

Jerry, I remember the 60's too and it was so sad that the returning soldiers were treated so badly.

Yes, Jane. I know that Pearl Harbor was a wake-up call to all Americans that war could come to our shores. I know many will always remember what happened on December 7, 1941.

Yes, Travis. Today, it's a very different era than Vietnam. Patriotism is at an all time high in my opinion compared to the 60's, and I think that it's mainly because of 9/11.

Yes, Debbie, Many forgot that there many draftees, and volunteers, who went to fight a war that had no clear directive for Victory. Let's Welcome Home All our Vietnam Vets!

Yesterday, my sons and I watched several war movies. I felt very overwhelmed watching in horror of the thought of sacraficing my sons for our nation, on the other hand my heart was full of gratitude for the men and women who are serving and had served so that today they may not be sacrificed. Thank you!
