How could we ever forget? Today, we salute and honor all military service members, past and present on this Memorial Day. We thank them for for their dedication, commitment, and their service to our country. They have made tremendous sacrifices to maintain our way of life in these United States of America. Yes, we know that our Freedom comes with a price. A price that truly cannot be repaid. That’s why it’s so important to remember that Memorial Day is not about picnics, barbecue time, and time off from work, but about, “Honoring and Remembering”, All those who have served, and those who are still serving our great nation.
Remember Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, Normandy Beach, the Korean War, the Vietnam Conflict(Yes, Congress never declared War), Desert Storm, and the war in Afghanistan, which happens to be the longest war in US History. We remember and honor all our fallen heroes. We honor all our brave men and women, who are still serving. No, We will never forget! Memorial Day is not a not a day to celebrate, but a day to Recognize and to Honor all those brave service members, who have died from all branches of the military, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force, and the Marines.
I remember the 60’s when Patriotism was very low, and our Vietnam veterans were not welcomed home, or given thanks for their service to our country. I often think of all those fallen comrades, and the sacrifices they made for us. I remember all those riots and demonstrations on our college campuses, and the burning of our flag in our country, and other foreign countries. I remember 9/11, and why our young men and women are in Afghanistan today, fighting terrorism, and helping to keep our country FREE and SAFE!
Yes, Let Us Remember the real meaning of what this Memorial Day is all about. Thank Our Military Service members for their service, and God Bless America!
