Earlier, December 5, 2013, I posted this Article and thought it would be fitting as a re-post on Memorial Day.  These men also served their country...some get visitors some are forgotten or have no family and I will also be thinking of them today.

At Homes Realty Group Visits Floyd E. "Tut" Fann State Veterans Home

@Homes Realty Group has a philosophy of giving back to the community.  Each year all @Homes agents are involved in several community events with the sole purpose of making a difference...making things better for the community.  Some of the events that we sponsor or volunteer time, money, lunches and breakfast to are: Make-A-Wish foundation, Lincoln Village, Huntsville Inner City Learning Center, Make A Difference Day, Huntsville Senior Senior Center, Casa, Christmas Charities year Round and yesterday's event at the Floyd E. "Tut" Fann Veterans Home.

We had scheduled a couple of hours of craft work, making Christmas decorations and wreaths.  Many of the Veterans got involved making decorations, some kept to themselves and most that we talked with seemed happy just to have someone to talk to.  Our agents got right to it as if a natural extension of who they are.

I wasn't there very long, but have a new found respect for friends I know who have had to care for or visit a loved one in a nursing home battling early dementia or Alzheimer's.

These ladies are incrediblly caring and the gentllemen eyes lit up when they walked through the doors.

"Tut" Fann State Veterans Home.  Make a difference in the lives of these men who served in the military and have made a difference in your life.  They are so appreciative just to have someone to talk with.  I don't think any of us left this day unchanged in some way.
