Hedwig Village is located in the Memorial Villages and is only about one square mile in size, making it the smallest self-ruled municipality in Harris County.  Hedwig Village is one of the more desirable neighborhoods to live in Houston.  Single family homes are built on much larger lots with a minimum lot size of 15,000 sq. ft., with 4 bedrooms and minimum of 3,500 sq. ft. of living space.  With easy access to Katy Freeway (I-10), downtown commute is a breeze.  Based on 2011 City-Data.com report, median home value is significantly higher at $581K compared to TX median home value of $128K.  The mean price for all housing units is approximately $488K.  It is also considered one of the more affluent communities, with resident's median household income at approximately $75K, versus $49K in TX household.

What Schools will the Kids Attend?

Hedwig Village is a part of Spring Branch Independent School District, and the public schools include a preschool called Wildcat Way School, Memorial Drive Elementary (which is actually in Piney Point), with the alternative being Bunker Hill Elementary School in adjacent Bunker Hill Village. The public middle school is Spring Branch Middle School, while the designated high school is Memorial High School.
