We recently had an opportunity to visit Saint Louis, Missouri -- a city which brings together elements of both Midwestern and Southern hospitality and charm.

The city is blessed with some beautiful parks and attractions.  Many of which are free of charge -- such as the wonderful Saint Louis Zoo and the Saint Louis Art Museum (both of which are located in lovely Forest Park.

There is also the famous, 630 foot Gateway Arch -- the largest arch in the world and the tallest man-made monument in the United States.

We also enjoyed visiting a number of interesting neighborhoods in Saint Louis -- such as "The Hill", a well-known Italian neighborhood that contains many fine restaurants and cafes.

Plenty to see and do over the course of a few days and highly recommended if you get the chance.

Did you go up in the arch?  That little elevator cart kind of caught me off guard. I almost hyperventilated.  That area is tight, man. lol

I was just sitting here thinking, I've never been to St. Louis.  Been close, but not close enough.  Your pictures showcase what a great city it actually is.

Hi, Chris -- you are right!  The vehicle they use to take you to the top is very small.  My oldest daughter is dating a guy who is 6' 7" -- I don't think he'd be able to get inside one.

Hi, Myrl -- a very nice city to visit and we found the people to be very friendly.

Eric thanks for sharing your photos.  St Louis is a city I have not visited.

Glad you had a great vacation.

Eric, as a person who lives just south of the city, St. Louis. I would like to say thank you for visiting our state. We are very happy to see you enjoyed your time here.  St. Louis and the surrounding areas offer so many free events for families and we are always happy to have visitors or company as we say at home.  Your photos are really good. Hope you will come back again and maybe check out 'The City of Cape Girardeau next visit.
